On the Paris ring road follow the signs for Bordeaux. On the A10 south of Paris take the A71 to Orléans. Stay on the road up to Vierzon.
here turn off on the A20 in the direction of Limoges, Brives and Cahors. Having passed Cahors, follow the signs for Toulouse/Montauban. Having passed Montauban, take the D999 via Gaillac to Albi.
On the Albi ringroad follow Millau. At the end of the exit is a stop sign. Do not turn right for Millau, but go straight and follow St Juéry and La Vallée du Tarn. You are now on the D172 which leads you through the Tarn Valley and through two old, narrow horseshoe-shaped railway tunnels towards Ambialet.
In Ambialet turn right directly after the café with gas station and pass through a small tunnel. At the first fork in the road, bear left. At the next fork (look out for the word Courris) bear left again. You are now driving on the opposite bank of the Tarn river on the D700. This road leads you to Trebas-les-Bains.
Go through the village and continue on the D172 until after a couple of kilometres you can cross the river again via a narrow bridge next to a hydro-electric power plant. Cross the river and follow the road which on your left climbs up the hill. When you reach Solages, turn left on the D555 which climbs steeply to the top of the hill. Follow the road and find Albugue at the fifth turning on your right.
