The gorgeous renovated medieval homestead "Albugue" is Paradise on Earth! Grouped around two florid courtyards are five slate-roofed houses - of which four cottages (Gîtes) - with thick stone walls. Arched gateways, stone steps, and surprising views give the place a romantic, playful and peaceful character. Built on the southern slope of a hill, it is warmed by the sun, protected from wind and surrounded by green forests and fields. The panorama over valleys and hills is absolutely spectacular! Eco homestead "Albugue" is almost self-sufficient with its vegetable garden, orchards, beehives, chickens, sheep herd (meat and wool) and chestnut forest (for building, firewood, mushrooms and berries). It is located in the valley of the Tarn, district of Aveyron (south of France), a splendid nature reserve between Albi and Millau. The four very comfortable cottages (Gîtes) are furnished well in style (good beds), including all kitchen amenities. They have a private terrace or balcony with a great view, like all 16 spacious campsites on the hill. These are situated on terraces nearby or further away from the farm. The decent sanitary building with laundry is situated at the 'place de platanes' nearby the jeu de boules lane, pingpong, swing, sandpit, benches etc. In summer all kind of activities are organised for kids and adults. You can join dinner (once a week) at the courtyard, often spontanious ending with music, song and dance. If wanted, the hosts can provide all kinds of instruments. Hosts Yvonne and Michel are the most relaxed, warm and welcoming people, we've ever met in France!
